⚠️ Please Note: Accelerated Reader includes book quizzes and reading-progress tools—it does NOT include myON digital book library (must purchase separately). Students obtain books separately through your home library, public library, or another source. For digital books, consider adding myON or our AR + myON Bundle.

How Accelerated Reader Works
Your child reads a book at their appropriate reading level and then completes an AR comprehension quiz.
AR tracks:
• Quiz accuracy
• Books read
• Points earned
• Reading comprehension
• Progress toward personalized goals
This gives parents and homeschoolers an easy way to encourage independent reading while monitoring comprehension and reading progress.

⭐ Star Reading Is Highly Recommended
Accelerated Reader can be used on its own, but it works best when paired with the Star Reading assessment.
Star Reading helps determine your child's current reading ability and automatically establishes an appropriate ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) and reading range for AR.
This helps:
✅ Identify “just-right” books
✅ Prevent books from being consistently too easy or too difficult
✅ Establish personalized reading goals
✅ Monitor reading growth over time
Star testing is sold separately. Choose a Single Star Test, 2-Test Bundle, or 3-Test Bundle depending on how often you'd like to monitor progress.
 
Already Using i-Ready or Exact Path?
Your child can still use AR without purchasing Star Reading.
If you would like us to manually establish your child's AR reading range using information from i-Ready or Exact Path, please provide the reading range you would like assigned.
You may provide either:
✅ ATOS range — example: 3.0–4.5
or
✅ Lexile range — example: 600L–750L
Please provide both a lowest and highest level, and we can configure the student's AR settings accordingly.
For the most accurate integration with Accelerated Reader, Star Reading is recommended because it works directly with the Renaissance system.
 
📚 Want Digital Books Too?
AR provides the quizzes, but it does not provide the books themselves.
Add myON Digital Library to give your child access to digital books they can read online.

Important Terms
• AR access expires August 31, 2027, regardless of purchase date. Purchase early for the greatest value.
• Purchases are non-refundable once the student's account has been processed.
• AR includes access to available book quizzes; books are not included.
• Quiz availability varies by title.
• Parents should download and save any desired student reports before the account expires.
• Access after August 31, 2027 requires purchase of the next available subscription period.
